Under this national initiative, the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has been entrusted with establishing Tribal Skilling Centres across selected tribal districts in collaboration with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA).
The Tribal Skilling Centre in Purulia is being implemented through Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS), Purulia, enabling tribal youth and women to access quality vocational education, practical skill training, and entrepreneurship opportunities close to their communities.
Since its establishment, the Centre has focused on developing industry-relevant skills, promoting self-employment, supporting sustainable livelihoods, and creating pathways for economic independence among tribal communities through inclusive and community-based training programmes.
